Maria Vamouklis (GRE/AUS)

Maria Vamouklis has suffered from Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) since she was very young, and the stigma became the inspiration to change perceptions. “It was taboo to seek help or advice so we dealt with it through medication. We kept it secret and that was challenging at times.” Maria became a Naturopath, determined to “find a way to help others … without using pharmaceutical medication” and has been having tremendous success by focusing on better nutrition and herbal medicines. Follow Maria on Lipstick Motorbikes as she rides her BMW F700 GS from Sydney to Perth in support of the R U OK?

Christophe Barriere-Varju (FRA/AUS)

Christophe has raced the Dakar Rally four times as a privateer, twice in Africa and twice in South America. His journey is the subject of the award-winning film, Dream Racer. The race itself wasn’t the only challenge. Just getting there came with its own difficulties: no sponsors, no multi-million-dollar team, not even a mechanic; just one rider, a motorbike, a film maker and a dream. Follow him on dreamracer.tv or on Facebook.

Liwia and Joki (PL)

Liwia and Joki love exploring the world on their BMW F650 GS Dakar. They have traveled all over Europe, writing articles, taking beautiful photos and making great videos too, all available on their blog LifeWeLove.com. Joki was seriously injured in an accident last year, but they're fighting for their dreams and getting ready to explore the world again – this time taking on new continents!

George and Charis Schwarz (AUS/SUI)

Bohemians. Artists. Riders. George and Charis travelled the world back in the 60's on their trusty MW R50, taking turns at being pillion. 40 years and 240,000 km later, somehow they've never had an accident! (and let's keep it that way!). They published the much loved book "Highlights of the Road" and donated all profits ($30,000) to enalbe the MARI (Motorcycle Accident Rehabilitation Initiative) at the Spinal Injuries Unit at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney.

Ron Grace (USA)

Ron has been riding since he was 9, has raced speedway bikes and 1640cc nitro funny bikes, but now that he’s a family man it’s adventure/dirt bikes … for a great cause! While exploring the spectacular Navajo Reservations he learned about the domestic violence and alcohol abuse in these communities, so he set about trying to help by starting Lost for a Reason with the philosophy “you don't need to have a lot of money … You just need to be willing to give your time”. He found many people who felt the same and they now oversee construction projects and fundraising events!

Ivan Phillips (AUS)

After completing his first Around Australia Ride, Ivan is about to embark on another lap in 2016 on his new Suzuki V-Strom XT. This ride has great significance: Ivan’s step-daughter was murdered in 2007, so he is riding as a ‘White Ribbon Ambassador’ to ensure that Tash’s legacy lives on. He will be doing some media appearances, as well as public speaking about domestic violence towards women. It’s a great cause and a great way to get the message out there to men that violence towards women is not ok. The ‘patron for the ride’ is the world renown Orianthi Panagaris (who was the guitarist of choice for Michael Jackson, no less!). Support the cause here: Riding Free of DV

Grzegorz Malicki (PL)

Grzegorz’s motorcycling adventures started at the age of 49 years, and it’s taken over his life completely since! In the last seven years, he’s visited 26 countries across continents. He’s fascinated by new cultures, and his friendly nature means that he fits right in as he gets to know new people, their customs, arts, and cuisines … all of which he shares on his blog: Moto-voyager.com. Check it out, there’s some stunning pictures!

Amy Harburg (AUS)

An experienced rider and a driven person, she strikes with confidence and courage. Amy was the only female to participate in the GS Safari Enduro, which takes GS riders to remote parts of Australia and tests them and their bikes through rocky hill climbs, deep sand and difficult water crossings. She will be representing Australia in the women's team at the world trophy event in Thailand 2016. She rocks!

Balaji Padmanabhan  (IND/AUS)

Bala’s a genuine, friendly, funny guy, and he’s tough as nails. Bala was born with adventure running through his veins, and despite some pretty serious health issues a few years ago, the sort that would make most people quit everything, he’s just picked himself up, dusted himself off, and gotten on with it. What an inspiration: it was his stories about riding through the Australian desert is that motivated me to finally fulfil my dream solo ride around Australia.

Perry Gilsenan (AUS)

Perry is an absolute inspiration. He lost both of his legs in train accident when he was young, but that didn’t stop him, and he’s powered on to become a great adventure rider. A selfless person, his inspiration is his daughter Grace who has Down syndrome, and so he established the Scrapheap Adventure Ride where participants restore an old motorbike and ride it from their sheds to a set destination to raise money for Down Syndrome NSW

Anne and Patricius (SUI)

After quitting their jobs and selling all their belongings in 2014, Anne and Patricius set off for a trip around the world on a BMW R 80 GS Dakar (1992) and a BMW R 1100 GS (1996).
